Welcome to the second half of 2009! Hopefully the year has been treating everyone well. We're very thankful for all your continued support and are looking forward to getting back at it. The band has been keeping active with various projects and is gearing up for a very busy fall and winter season.
--Strict Joy--
The Swell Season's new album, 'Strict Joy,' is due October 23 (Plateau (Ireland)), October 26 (Anti (Europe/UK), and October 27 (Anti (N America), Spunk (Australia)). 'Strict Joy' was recorded by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) in portions from August 2008 to April 2009 at his home studio in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It's twelve new, original songs document the continuing evolution of it's primary songwriters, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. As well, the two were joined in the studio by Frames members Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Joe Doyle, Rob Bochnik and Graham Hopkins, Javier Mas (Leonard Cohen), Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground Duo), Steven Bernstein (Levon Helm Band) and Clark Gayton (Levon Helm Band).

Presale Tickets for the upcoming North American Fall 2009 Tour are now available via the band's website. Presale tickets are a limited quantity of the total seats for each show, which we are now trying to offer whenever possible. Presale tickets will be the first chance at obtaining tickets, often have 'will call only' restrictions, and also usually offer lower service charges.
