E' che oggi ho ascoltato questa nuova canzone, "In These Arms", che sarà sul nuovo cd in uscita nel 2009... :rolleyes:

In September of this past year when The Swell Season rolled through Nashville Glen taped two songs for a website called Backstage Sessions. It's a great set up wherein the artist performs in the back of the venue in a very casual setting. The folks at Backstage have gotten some really great stuff from the likes of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and The Whigs among others. The staff at the Ryman were kind enough to turn a blind eye to their on-site recording policy and in turn we got Glen doing two new songs. The first one is up and it's called "In These Arms". It should be on the new record in the coming next year. The second tune recorded was "Back Broke", a song he's been doing live this past year.

Ho acquistato il DVD "the swell season - live from the artists den (2008)". E' bellissimo.
Glen e Marketa, accompagnati da Joe Doyle e Colm Mac Con Iomaire al basso e al violino, in un setting particolare, il Good Shepherd Center Chapel di Seattle.
Si tratta di una cappella costruita nel 1906 come rifugio per ragazze con problemi caratteriali.
L'atmosfera generale è da luogo infestato da fantasmi, tanto che Glen scherza più volte su questo punto. Come extra del dvd c'e' una sua storia sui fantasmi.
Il concerto è intervallato da brevi momenti di intervista a Glen, dove spiega che i Frames sono una rock band, con una struttura solida e fissata con i chiodi, mentre i Swell Season sono più liberi, permettono alla chitarra acustica di essere l'elemento portante alla quale aggiungere, di volta in volta, il piano, i violini, alcuni effetti.
L'esibizione dura oltre un'ora. Inizia Glen da solo con Say It To ME Now e termina con una dolcissima Star Star accompagnata dal pubblico. In mezzo l'immancabile Falling Slowly, una poderosa Pavement Tune con chitarra elettricae una commovente If You Want Me con Marketa alla chitarra acustica
ps. la chitarra di Glen è quella del film once...

io non sono riuscita a trovare la versione region2 da nessuna parte

solo su ebay tempo fa, da uno che non aveva neanche un feedback positivo

PEr avere certe chicche bisogna avere santi in paradiso...anzi in Irlanda, dove il dvd in questione è in bella mostra nei negozi HMV assieme a Frames, Once, Swell Season e Lisa Hannigan (anche Snow Patrol se è per questo...)

mi viene in mente una delle canzoni che spesso suonano "Concentric"..ma non è contenuta in nessun album! (o sbaglio?) ..eppure non è recente..mmh..

Sì però cavoli ma in studio con i Frames quell'uomo quando ci torna?

Non c'è scritto nulla..........
Il negozio è inglese, per cui io intanto ci ho provato.
Quando arriverà ti saprò dire.
Eventualmente basta farsene una copia; le copie vengono "region free".
